Map
The following map allows you to explore a visual representation of characteristics of occupied housing units within New York City, focusing on whether these units have adequate plumbing. The map is color coded to indicate the count of units with inadequate plumbing in each Census tract. It draws from US Census Bureau data, organized by tract, that indicates if an occupied building has adequate or inadequate plumbing. As you scroll, the tooltip will display counts of housing units as well as counts of units marked with inadequate plumbing. You can reset the map to the default view by clicking the button at the bottom.
